  • Students should go home immediately after exiting the school bus at their assigned bus stop.

Student Conduct on Buses

Safety is of utmost importance for our students as we transport them to and from school and for school sponsored activities.  Each bus driver will have their own bus rules posted and enforced their buses of which they review with their students.  Additional student school bus code of behavior can be found in the student handbook.

Student’s failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in school personnel issuing one or more of the following consequences:

Discipline

  • Verbal warning = change in seat assignment.

  • Written School Bus Conduct Report.

    • Written notification from the school vehicle driver to the building Principal and the parent/guardian.

    • The school Principal determines which disciplinary step(s) will be taken in response to the report.

    • Parent/Guardian cooperation is greatly appreciated in addressing student behavioral issues.

Transportation Audio/Video Surveillance (Board Policy 810.2)

  • Audio/Video recorders are used on each school bus and school vehicles in efforts to maintain discipline and to ensure safety and security of all students/drivers and is not for public viewing,

  • Audio/video recordings capturing misbehaviors and may be used at conferences with parents/guardians as evidence for disciplinary action, if needed.

  • A video recording is not required to support a school bus conduct referral written by any district employee.

In Summary

Transportation is a privilege and not a right!  Students are expected to follow proper conduct at all times to maintain safe environment for themselves and others.  Failure to abide by the school rules and comply with requests of school personnel/drivers may result in a student being issued a School Bus Conduct Report and subsequent suspension or denial of bus transportation.

Activity Bus

Due to the decline in participation of students riding the Activity bus, the bus will downsize to a van capacity and will operate on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday departing those days at consistent time 5:15pm for the 2019-20 school year.   There will not be any Activity runs during the first/last week of school and before holidays.  Please be aware that your student may be dropped off earlier than expected as it depends on other students riding on that van.  Therefore, parents/guardians must be at the stop at least 10 minutes after departure time, the schedule below is estimated if students were unloaded at every stop.

Important change: * Students must notify the office by Friday morning the week prior to reserve a seat on the van.

The Activity van will only stop at the ‘group’ stops listed below and the times are estimated based on a full run.  During Autumn Leaf Festival, the Clarion County Courthouse stop will temporary be moved to Clarion High School.
